Coach

Coach Candace began figure skating with intentionality after a Learn to Skate session that she took with her brother at age 6. While it was her brother’s first and last experience on the ice, Candace continued figure skating out of the Onyx Suburban Skating Academy for the next 12 years. In that time she skated competitively and tested through Junior Moves in the Field. She graduated from the University of Michigan with Bachelor’s degrees in both History and Spanish and works as a High School U.S. History Teacher in Detroit. She also conducts supplemental research for historical institutions. In addition to figure skating, Candace enjoys sewing, travelling, and spending time with her Bernese mountain dog, Moose.
